Lunch was later than usual because we wanted to wait for a colleague to go together. In the end, we give up and went ahead ourselves. The rain just stopped so we didn't want to go too far. Hence we go to the nearby coffeeshop at 122 Neil Road. There is stall at the corner of the coffeeshop sells 烧腊 (roast chicken, duck and cha shao) which is popular among the office workers. I am having difficulty to translate local delicacy name to English. Anyway, I order 油鸡腿面 (chicken drumstick noodles - $3.50) . The chicken has fatty skin (yummy!) and smooth and tender. The noodles are well-cooked and chilli sauce tastes good too. But vegetables are a bit pathetic as they only give stems. The soup is worth mentioned as it is not the typical kinda of bland wanton soup. Soup is salty vegetable soup which is sour and increase appetite again. I wonder is this a trend as I notice most good stalls seem to offer that. A simple and nice lunch is good enough for me today.
