The Soup Shop with Betty Boop

Saturday was our R&R day. The three of us extended our trip one more day so that we could travel to beyond Sydney Central. Despite the bad weather forecast of rain, we braved ourselves and headed to Blue Mountains. When we reached the train station, the Blue Mountain track is under maintainence and an alternative route is set up, that is to head to Black Town then take a bus to Blue Mountain all covered in a single return ticket that cost AUD$10.80. As I have been to Blue Mountains and know that the place is huge, I suggested all of us to buy the explorer bus pass (AUD$36) that will bring us around the place too.

After nearly 2.5 hours, we finally reached Katoomba. When we stepped out of the bus, all of us was freaking cold that we made mad rush to any nearby shops that are opened. Because it was so cold, we all bought thermal wear in one of the shop on the spot. Strangely, after putting on thermal wear, it really helped to warm up immediately.

None of us took breakfast because we got to wake up as early as 6.30am. So we headed into "The Soup Shop" that sells soups. There is a huge Betty Boop besides our table and not sure why they put such figurine in the shop. I order Potato & Bacon soup (AUD$10) thinking potatoes will help to fill the stomach. The soup tastes normal and bacon isn't crispy. But for such cold and dreadful weather, I am satisfied to be drinking something hot.
