I didn't know that there are many small food outlets at Raffles Place in the basement area. It took quite a hard time to decide what to eat for dinner. At Raffles Place, you will notice many outlets selling sandwiches and salads that cater to the office crowd.
I notice this little outlet at the corner because it has more customers and on closer look, the food look interesting. It is very different from the typical Japanese restaurant. It's a home cook food stall. It explains why I see a few Japanese at this place. Out of curiosity, I decide to check this place out and was served by a Japanese lady. I ordered Buta Shabu udon ($7) which I presume it to be pork udon dry. When I tried it I love it immediately especially the companion sauce that has a peanut and mustard taste. The udon isn't the thick type you ate restaurant. What makes it nice it is oiless and is very healthy. I also tried Burdock Apple salad ($2.80) and found out what is Burdock. It is a kind of root that is commonly used in Japanese and Korean cuisine.
I strongly recommend you to try out this place.
